City of Arcadia: Unoccupied residence registration fees begin July 1

As of July 1, 2021, registering an unoccupied residence will require an annual fee of $ 1,492. The fees will allow the City to continue its efforts to ensure that unoccupied properties remain secure, well maintained and do not become a nuisance to the community. An unoccupied residence is a single-family home that has not been occupied for at least 30 days. Homes that are actively under construction, in receivership for sale or transfer, or that are actively marketed by an identified listing agent are not considered unoccupied. Registration of unoccupied residences is required and includes the provision of up-to-date contact details of the owner, contact details of two authorized persons, at least one of whom is available 24 hours a day, as well as the annual membership fee. Instead of providing two authorized contacts, owners can designate a property management company as their contact. The property management company must be located within 20 miles of the unoccupied residence and be available 24 hours a day.
