Clarksville, Tennessee – The Clarksville Association of REALTORS® (CAR) Young Professionals Network (YPN) hosted its seventh annual Handbags for Hope event on September 18, 2021 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
Proceeds from the event raise funds for CAR’s Spreading Our Support (SOS) Foundation which, in past years, has benefited the Mike Groves Memorial Fellowship, Safehouse for Women, Habitat for Humanity, FUEL and ‘other local organizations.
Over 400 items were auctioned off in a live and silent auction, bringing in contributions of $ 20.00 to $ 39,500. The event attendees and bidders were local REALTORS, CAR affiliate business partners and members of this community. A grand total of $ 233,577 was raised this year, breaking the record of $ 150,000 in 2019. Throughout its history, CAR YPN Handbags for Hope has raised nearly $ 710,000 for our local community.
âI am full of pride for our YPN, our association and our community. The amount of support we had this year was incredible. I am so excited to see how these funds will have a direct impact on our community, âsaid Caitlin Griser, President of RCA YPN 2021.â This year’s event was a huge success. My heart was so happy to see everyone dressed up and having fun! Knowing that 100% of the funds raised will go to local organizations makes me proud to be part of this REALTOR® community! said Becki Seay 2021 CAR YPN vice president. Seay then praised the generosity of the real estate community and their love for this community they serve every day: “Thank you to all the generous donations, sponsorships and participations that made this event such a success.”
âAfter participating in Handbags for Hope for the past five years, I had the privilege of watching the behind-the-scenes planning for the event and was honored to see the end results of the hard work. This year we saw how it will become a part of the whole community for years to come. We are very grateful for the outpouring of love that allows us to have record numbers. Stay tuned for next year, guaranteed not to disappoint! “said master of ceremonies and real estate agent Jimmy Terry Jr.
