Estate agent accused of stealing from a church | New

A well-known Georgetown real estate agent is considering pleading guilty to a federal wire fraud charge after being found guilty of stealing $512,042 from the church where he was treasurer.

On Monday, Ralph G. Tackett said he would plead guilty in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky to the charge of wire fraud by sending “…money to an out-of-state individual who made financial requests (in the total amount of $325,000), he paid $187,356 directly on his personal credit cards with Church funds, and he issued checks in the name of his wife without her knowledge , then deposited those funds into his own personal and business accounts for his own personal benefit.
