GWL Realty Advisors officially opens 128 residential rental units on Robson

Vancouver Mayor Kennedy stewart joins the opening ceremony for Lower Robson’s first rental property in decades

VANCOUVER, BC, November 24, 2021 / CNW / – GWL Realty Advisors, accompanied by the Mayor Kennedy stewart, officially opened today the Chronicle, a 21-story market rental tower at 825 Nicola Street (at Robson). This rental building dedicated to the market houses more than 250 people in 128 units. The project adds significant rental stock to the Lower Robson neighborhood, which has not seen a new rental property open in decades.

GWL Realty Advisors today officially opened Chronicle, a 21-story rental tower in that of Vancouver West end.

“GWL Realty Advisors is proud to have brought new rental housing to that of Vancouver West End ”, says Ralf dost, President, GWL Realty Advisors. “Chronicle reflects our desire to build strong, engaged and liveable communities in cities like Vancouver. We look forward to welcoming individuals and families who want to love where they live, build a downtown life, and enjoy all that connected city life has to offer. “

More than a rental housing development, Chronicle was designed to be a community for its residents. In response to the shortage of family rental housing in the area, more than a third of Chronicle’s units are two and three bedroom units, suitable for families. The property offers indoor and outdoor amenities such as fitness and yoga rooms, a rooftop terrace with an outdoor fireplace, a seating area and a dining area. The entire top floor of the tower is a common area that all residents can enjoy.

Chronicle is pet-friendly and offers amenities that include a pet spa with dog washing and grooming facilities and a “bark park,” an outdoor pet area on the second-floor rooftop. of the building. The building maximizes its prime downtown location, enabling a car-free lifestyle by providing extensive storage and maintenance facilities for bicycles.

“In a city where more than 50% of the inhabitants are tenants, it is essential to increase our supply of guaranteed rental apartments in the market. The completion of Chronicle represents an important next step in expanding the range of rental options in the downtown West End, ”said the Mayor. Kennedy stewart. “By increasing the supply and diversity of housing in highly desirable, family-friendly neighborhoods connected to public transport – as this project is doing – we are taking a step in the right direction and we are getting closer to achieving Vancouver a city that works for all of us. ”

Chronicle was the first project on the Robson corridor approved as part of the new West End Community Plan and it builds on the City’s efforts to increase rental housing density in the area. The Lower Robson neighborhood has some of the highest land costs in the city, and so far new developments have tended to take the form of luxury condominiums. As a specially designed market rental tower by an institutional developer who intends to own and manage the building for the long term, Chronicle has broken that trend.

GWL Realty Advisors developed the project on behalf of the project owner, The Canada Life Assurance Company. Chronicle was designed by architect IBI Group. The building will be professionally managed by GWL Realty Advisors Residential.
