Realtors plant a greener future in Armstrong – Vernon Morning Star

An Armstrong real estate agent’s welcome gift to clients will help fight the climate crisis.

Over the past year, Kelly Brown and Tammy Wolzen of Royal LePage Downtown Realty have donated money for every sale to the tree plantation. While several clients planted the donation on their new property, others were unable to.

Now these trees will be planted around the community.

“We wanted to do something for the community in which we live and work,” said Brown.

With support from local businesses Purple Springs Nursery and Taber’s Services, Brown planted trees in Armstrong Memorial Park on Friday, November 5.

Inspired by discussions about climate change, learning about the effects of deforestation, and Swiss studies that highlight the positive impacts of tree planting on crisis mitigation, Brown asked himself, “Why don’t we we no trees? “

Brown is also considering planting trees at Highland Park Elementary School and a new park on the McLeod Subdivision.

“We want to thank everyone because without them we couldn’t have done it,” Brown said.

But now she is extending her challenge to other businesses.

“Damn, let’s plant some trees,” she said. “I would like this to become a movement.

Brown continues to write to all levels of government and departments to urge publicly managed forests and she has said she is turning her attention to including oil and gas industry support in tree planting. .

“I am so excited to turn this into something more.”
